Day 2: Approach to 3 days of trekking Condoriri

This hike is really interesting because it goes completely lonely mountains, whose silence is broken only by the bustle of some flames that break the ice beneath their paws, creating a trickle that the wind carries on its way to Lake Titicaca. From this point you can see the silvery sheen that reflects the majestic highest navigable lake, while walking in the company of many flames, we see some alpacas (they are shy) and other animals typical highland climate, as vizcachas, alligators, ibis and gulls .

To get to this magical place, we must first travel to a small town called “Place of the flames.” Located one hour and forty-five minutes drive from La Paz. Here we will meet our porters who carry all our equipment in the flames.

The walk begins at an altitude of 4,300 m and rises progressively to 4,600 meters to reach our first campsite on the banks of the beautiful lagoon-Khota Chiara (3 hours trekking).

Day 3: Hike from Lake Chiara – Maria Lloco Khota glacier

Early morning awakening is well compensated by the views of the sunrise behind the mountains covered with snow (which can take spectacular pictures). This day will reach two mountain passes, we see majestic part of Huayna Potosi and begin our climb to reach the first step to 4850 meters, and then began to descend slowly and enjoy the scenery. After a brief rest we prepare to reach the second pass at 4759 meters. From this point we started to climb to find a camping area near Maria Lloco at 4650 meters.

Day 4: From Mary Lloco Glacier to the base camp of Huayna Potosi

Today we can see beautiful colors lakes inexplicables.Alrededor at 12:30 we reached the base camp of Huayna Potosi. After a good lunch, the afternoon began our practice in the ancient glacier with the help of our mountain guide (our guides have extensive experience with all types of groups), so that later became acquainted with the team and practice on the glacier. Note that you do not need prior experience. After 3 hours, return to the shelter to keep warm and enjoy a deserved rest.

Day 5: From Base Camp to Camp top of Huayna Potosi

After a good breakfast we start our ascent to “High Camp” at 5000 meters. The route is well marked and leads to a clear clears up where we set up our tents and after a short break we will begin to test and verify our mountain gear.
