Ojos del Salado (The eyes of the Salt Lake) is located in the Atacama Desert, 900km north of Santiago de Chile. This impressive volcano in the Chilean Altiplano, is surrounded by numerous lakes and mountains and volcanoes of significant heights.
Day 1: Arrival in Santiago;
Reception of the group in Santiago de Chile. Transfer by private car to the hotel in Santiago. Check your personal mountain equipment.
Day 2: Flight to Copiapo.
Transfer from hotel to the airport in Santiago; Flight to Copiapo; Transfer to the hotel in Copiapo, afternoon at leisure; Dinner.
Day 3: Maricunga.
Approval process to be allowed to climb Ojos del Salado; In the afternoon departure to the Salar de Maricunga, at 3,600 meters; Impressive Altiplano salt lake with flamingos in the Andes, Santa Rosa. This place is situated in the National Park Nevado Tres Cruces; Soft acclimatization hike on the edge of the Laguna Santa Rosa; Dinner in the dining tent.
Day 4: Climbing for acclimatization.
Breakfast; Hike in the morning; Climb to 4.890 m. This process will help us to acclimatize; Return to camp; Dinner in the dining tent.
Day 5: Laguna Verde.
Transfer to Laguna Verde at 4.350m with an incomparable turquoise blue water. Here we visit some hot springs, where we can swim and we admire the views of the Highlands; Camp; Dinner in the dining tent.
Day 6: Rest day;
Walk to Laguna Verde; Lunch and dinner in camp.
Day 7: Summit Cerro Mulas.
Breakfast; Climb to the summit of Cerro Mulas at 5897 m; Return to camp at the Laguna Verde; dinner in the dining tent and bath in the hot springs.
Day 8: Camp Atacama.
Breakfast and disarmament of camp; Transfer in the vehicle with all-wheel drive to the camp Atacama at 5,300 m where we set up our base camp at the foot of the volcano; Dinner in the dining tent.
Day 9: Yew Atacama – Atacama.
Breakfast; Transportation of food to Yew Lodge; Return to camp Atacama; Dinner.
Day 10: Camp Yew;
Breakfast; Ascent to Yew Lodge; Camp; Dinner.
Day 11: Summit day;
Breakfast in the morning; Departure to the summit before sunrise. About 6 to 7 hours of climbing separate us from our last camp to the summit of the Ojos de Salado. Return to camp to camp Atacama or continue to camp Yew, depending on the wishes of the tourists who make the expedition; Dinner.
Day 12: day extra for the summit.
Day 13: Bahia Inglesa;
Descend to Copiapo; Stop at the Laguna Verde for a bath; Continuing the journey to the Pacific Ocean to our hotel on the beach in Bahia Inglesa; Celebration of the Ascension, dinner.
Day 14: Flight to Santiago;
Airport transfers from Copiapo; Flight back to Santiago; Hotel.
Day 15: Flight back;
Transfer to Santiago airport; Flight.

Transfers by private vehicle.
Flight Santiago – Copiapo-Santiago with a maximum of 20 kg of baggage.
Two nights in a hotel in Santiago, in a double room with breakfast.
A night at the hotel in Copiapo, in a double room with breakfast.
